Ben and Joslyn's new Strength+ program "Build then Burn" incorporates Tread workouts

New Peloton “Build Then Burn” Program with Ben Alldis & Joslyn Thompson Rule on Strength+ App

Ben Alldis and Joslyn Thompson Rule have teamed up to created a new program on Peloton’s Strength+ app called “Build then Burn.”

This is the first Strength+ program to be designed by two instructors. It is also the first to incorporate Tread work directly in the strength program.

“Build then Burn” is a 1-week intermediate program with 50 minute workouts 3 times a week.

If you are accessing this from a phone with the Strength+ app installed, this link to “Build then Burn” will take you directly to the latest program. Otherwise, you will be directed to Peloton’s main Strength+ website.

This is the official program description for “Build then Burn”:

“In this program, we’re combining strength training with Tread sessions to take your strength and endurance to the next level.”

Adding in some time on the Tread makes this program similar to Peloton’s previous 1-week Split + programs (e.g., Split + Run with Olivia Amato, and the Split + Hike with Rebecca Kennedy) that first launched in October 2024.

Ben and Joslyn appeared together in the program preview, sharing more about the Peloton “Build then Burn” program:

“In this program we’re combining strength training with Tread sessions to take your strength and endurance to the next level. This program is structured across three intense sessions per week.”

Ben went on to say that first he will guide you through the full body strength portion of each workout, with dumbbells being the predominant focus and that no barbell is required. Afterwards, Joslyn said she’ll coach you through the Tread portion of the workout, including sprints, hills, and endurance pushes.

As with many of Peloton’s programs, it is designed to be repeated.

Taking “Build then Burn” as designed will use the following gym equipment: cable machine, bench, dumbbells, and a treadmill. As always with the Strength+ app, if you do not have access to a certain piece of gym equipment, you can swap an exercise out for something comparable.

The suggested program schedule for “Build then Burn” is workouts on days 1, 3, and 5 with recovery on the remaining days.

So UK instructors developing a program for the Strength+ app which Peloton refuses to release to UK customers even though we pay the same monthly fees. Frankly Peloton don’t even have the courtesy to reply when asked if it is going to be released. I, like others, are losing patience with Peloton. We thought a new CEO might turn the company around, but just bluster so far.
