A small bug seems to be impacting some Peloton members as it relates to target metrics on the Peloton Bike & Bike+.
Normally, as soon as the intro is over, and the class officially starts with the warm-up, the target metrics begin to display immediately. For those not familiar, target metrics are the the numbers that show the range of cadence and resistance that people should be riding to based on what the instructor has called out. These target metric ranges are displayed over the actual/current number a member is riding at.
Instead, for those experience this bug – the target metrics are not shown until around a minute into the class.

This doesn’t appear to be a case where the metrics are just slow to display – and once they start showing they are at the correct spot. Rather – once the metrics start showing, the numbers are from what they would have been at the beginning of class.
This then causes the target metrics to be delayed by around a minute the entire class – meaning that as the class is ending, the target metrics are just changing to what normally would be the cooldown.
For those who have the Peloton Bike+, this is then causing issue with the auto-resistance feature. That feature is based on the target metric data – so the Bike+ is changing resistances at different times than the coach is saying.
This bug is only impacting on-demand classes (as target metrics are not shown in live classes).
Specifically – for those having the issue, it seems to be impacting on-demand classes from the last week or two. Older classes are reported to be fine, but any class from the last week or two seems to have the target metrics being delayed.
At time of publishing, there has been no official Peloton incident report or bug created for this issue. There have been many reports across social media of this happening throughout the last week or so.
However, Peloton has not officially commented on any of those threads (with some bugs in the past, Peloton will comment on social media that they are aware of it and it is being looked into). In addition, some customer report agents are telling members that they didn’t see any issues in their system about it – while other agents are saying this is not the first report they’ve gotten from members.
Peloton customer support has recommended to some people to factory reset or calibrate their bike – which does not seem to solve the issue for members who have tried it.

Yes. Happened to my husband and me on Leanne’s recent 70 ride
Yes! I was searching for an answer to this issue because I felt like I was going crazy!
It happened over and over last week. I don’t consider it a minor bug. It totally destroys my workout and motivation to continue.
I have noticed a different problem with the metrics. Mine start on time, but aren’t correlated to the instructor’s announcements. It is almost like the metrics are to a different ride.
Yep. Same issue. Metrics start late and don’t change in time with what the instructor says and therefore are out of whack the entire ride. Ruins the ride. Annoying.
Yes! Same has happened to me on the last 2 classes I took. Definitely negatively impacts your workout.
