Peloton may soon bring its instructor-led classes to even more countries and languages, without the long production timelines historically required for international content, or the need for new instructors.
At the recent Morgan Stanley Global Consumer & Retail Conference, CEO Peter Stern shared new insight into how Peloton is leveraging AI dubbing technology to accelerate their global expansion strategy.
Stern explained that Peloton’s massive production volume – 10,000 classes just last year – makes traditional human dubbing unrealistic. He stated:
“We’re not like a typical media company… A really great TV show makes 10 episodes a season. Last year, we produced 10,000 workouts. That’s a lot of dubbing if you have to have human beings do the dubbing. We need to use technology for it, and we’ve got great people working on it.”
Peloton is already using early forms of automated translations in select markets. Earlier this year, the company rolled out auto-generated subtitles – sometimes referred to as “auto translations” – for German and Spanish classes. That update quietly hinted at a much larger initiative in progress.
Peloton has also taken older classes, and used dubbing technology to replace the voice of the original instructor with that of a native German or Spanish speaker instead – mainly as part of programs. However, to date those are not believed to have been done using AI dubbing technology at this point.
Stern’s new comments confirm that Peloton is not only continuing that work but planning to scale it significantly. The goal is to provide full AI-dubbed audio in additional languages, beyond the core English, German, and Spanish offerings Peloton already maintains; to reduce friction for new international members; and to remove historical barriers tied to localization costs and speed.

As Stern explained:
“At the same time, we’ve got amazing teams working on things like AI dubbing so that we can deliver our workouts from our amazing instructors in many more languages, and that will unlock more opportunities for international expansion for us in the future, which have historically been prohibitive.”
Peloton first alluded to this direction in earlier remarks about laying the groundwork for future international growth this past August in the FY 2025 Q4 earnings call. Now, with this explicit confirmation of AI dubbing development, it is clear that the company is preparing for a broader global push.
While no timeline has been announced, the comments signal that members may eventually see Peloton classes available in far more languages – delivered by existing instructors, but powered by technology behind the scenes.
