Denis Morton has released a new “Deep Dive” ride on Peloton featuring Prince’s “Purple Rain” album.
The 45 min Deep Dive: Purple Rain was released on-demand on October 21, 2026 @ 12:00am ET.
Peloton describes the class as:
“Denis presents Deep Dive: a thoughtful, music-driven ride focused on a seminal album. This episode features Purple Rain by Prince. Experience his signature coaching as you get a deeper connection to the album and the artist.”
At the start of class, Denis says he will try to avoid talking over Prince and invites members to adjust the audio mix to turn the music up and his voice down.
He talks about the album’s connection to the “Purple Rain” film and points out details like the missing bass line in “When Doves Cry.” The class includes spin-ups, sprints and out-of-saddle efforts before a final climb during the title track. “Father’s Song” plays during the closing stretches.
Before the final climb, Denis recalls a question from fellow Peloton instructor Jon Hosking about the way they use and treat music: “What are you going to say that’s going to improve on Purple Rain?”

As the title track ends, Denis notes that “Purple Rain” closed Prince’s final public show in Atlanta on April 14, 2016.
At the end of the class, Denis thanks his Peloton team for helping put the ride together. He also thanks Prince’s family and foundation for “the permission to honor and represent them” by sharing the music in community.
The playlist includes all nine songs from the original 1984 album, keeping those tracks in their album order. “Sex Shooter” appears between “When Doves Cry” and “I Would Die 4 U,” while “Father’s Song” follows the title track at the end.

The series grew out of Denis’s “Tuesday Tunes” social media posts, where he shares albums that mean something to him.
