Peloton Adds New “Iron” Tier & Badge to May 2026 Monthly Activity Challenge

Peloton has quietly added a new badge tier to its monthly Activity Challenge for May 2026: an “Iron” badge that members can earn by completing classes on just 5 different days during the month.

This is a change to Peloton’s monthly challenge structure. Up until now, every monthly challenge from Peloton has offered three badge tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The May Activity Challenge keeps those original three tiers in place, but adds a new fourth lower tier specifically for members who take a class on at least 5 different days during the month.

Here are the badge tiers for the May 2026 Activity Challenge:

  • Iron: 5 different days
  • Bronze: 10 different days
  • Silver: 15 different days
  • Gold: 20 different days

The official challenge description from Peloton now reads: “Variety keeps your routine interesting. Whether trying a new strength program, or rolling out the Yoga mat for the first time, taking any class on any device for at least 5 days this month will earn you a new badge.”

For reference, Peloton’s other existing monthly challenges (Cycling, Running and Walking, Strength, Pilates, Yoga, Meditation, and Elevation) all have the standard Bronze/Silver/Gold three-tier structure, with Bronze typically being the most accessible threshold but still requiring some effort. The new Iron tier, if it carries over to other challenges, would represent a lower entry point for less active members.

At this time, the Iron tier appears to only be available on the monthly Activity Challenge, and not on any of the other monthly challenges. It is not yet clear whether this is a one-off addition specifically for May, or whether Peloton intends to add the Iron tier to other monthly challenges or as a permanent fourth tier going forward. We will share an update if we get more clarity on Peloton’s plans.

The change fits into a broader pattern we have seen from Peloton under CEO Peter Stern of trying to lower the barrier to engagement and meet members where they are. Adding a more achievable threshold gives less active or returning members a reason to opt in, even if hitting Bronze (10 days) feels out of reach.
