Peloton has released a special class as part of their promotion and collaboration around Marvel’s upcoming Captain America movie.
The new 30 min Peloton Superhero Ride features Marvel’s new Captain America – Anthony Mackie – live at Peloton Studios New York with Alex Toussaint. This class was released on-demand overnight, but was recorded with members in studio last week on Wednesday. While Peloton doesn’t normally have members in studio on Wednesdays, they do have random member classes on irregular days to facilitate the schedules of special guests in classes.
The class is a two for one style format – with Anthony on a second bike up on stage alongside Alex Toussaint the entire time.

The class is similar to what you might see in Alex’s Ride to Greatness classes, but with Anthony riding alongside you as a superhero motivating you. Given the red, white, and blue colors associated with Captain America, Peloton used those colors throughout the ride in the studio – with red lights on the podium highlighting the instructors, and blue lights overhead. Towards the end of the ride while Thunderstruck was played, Peloton set the lights to the rhythm of the music flashing red, white and blue.
As they have done in some other recent classes, Peloton had additional camera people on hand. They were used to walk around the studio, with a steadycam, to get some unique angles of Alex & Anthony on the bikes during class. A few of the regular bikes towards the front were removed to facilitate these angles and shots.
Throughout the ride, Alex would ask Anthony various questions, including how he trains to keep his greatness activated, and when he faced adversity. Anthony answered these questions as a way to motivate the members riding along. Near the halfway point, Anthony gave some motivational words around doing what you can do now.

While they don’t promote the upcoming Captain America movie too heavily, Anthony does make reference back to Avengers Endgame. He mentioned that in the movie, when battling Thanos, they realized that the most important person was the person to their left – which at that moment for Anthony, was Alex Toussaint.
This class has been added to the Train Like A Superhero collection and challenge. Originally, there were only 6 classes, but it was hinted a 7th class would be added this week. You can read more about the overall cross-promotion and marketing between Peloton and the new Captain America movie here.
For fans of Marvel movies, there is also a Music of Marvel Peloton class series that was recorded last year.
