Peloton has quietly updated their monthly running and walking challenge, raising the mileage required to earn a gold badge.
Update – Shortly after our post about this, Peloton updated the October challenge, and the gold badge now requires 40 miles like previously months.
In previous months, participants needed to log 40 miles in a month to achieve the top-tier recognition, but as of this month, that target has increased to 50 miles.

While the mileage requirement for gold has changed, the thresholds for other medal tiers remain the same. A bronze badge is still 10 miles, while a silver badge is still 25 miles.
This adjustment arrives after Peloton rebranded these challenges over the summer to better reflect that both running and walking activities count toward progress.
The change adds an extra push for those aiming for the gold, encouraging members to cover more distance each month.
At this time, none of the other monthly challenges – which include daily activity, cycling, strength, meditation, and yoga – appear to have changed.
Do you participate in Peloton’s monthly running challenges; and if so, what do you think of the increased mileage goal for gold?
