Peloton Will Expand Pace Target Classes to Walks & Walk + Runs

Peloton will reportedly bring pace target classes to their walking modality – likely including walk + run content as well – in the future.

UpdatePeloton walking pace target classes launched in June 2025.

In case you missed it, earlier this summer Peloton unveiled a new type of classes for the Tread and Tread+: pace target classes. Rather than cueing a specific speed, the instructor indicates an effort level. Those effort levels are automatically mapped out and displayed to speed ranges on the Tread based on the difficulty level selected by the member. If you’re unfamiliar with Peloton’s pace target levels, you can find a comprehensive overview via our guide.

Pace target classes debuted in the running modality, but signs point to Peloton expanding the format to walking as well.

Instructor Matty Maggiacomo shared in his 30 min. Walk + Run from July 21 that pace targets will one day be available in walking classes.

He mentioned the introduction of pace targets and explained how they work, and encouraged members to try the new content if they haven’t already. He specifically stated: “More to come there; we’re really working on really advancing – and we will have pace targets for walking at some point, which will be good.”

Matty joked, “they will probably be mad I just told you that,” as this has not been formally or officially announced by Peloton.

Matty emphasized that Peloton is working on adding more classes that utilize pace targets, as it is a different type of training and can be customized to each person and fitness level.

Pace target classes are currently only available on Tread/Tread+ devices; they are not available within the app or web browser, and can be somewhat difficult to find. We have a list of Peloton pace target classes available on our site.
