Peloton Shares Member Preferences Regarding Workout Times, Types, & More

Peloton recently held a poll on social media, asking members about their workout preferences, and then sharing the results in a summary post. The post came from the main @OnePeloton Instagram account, and the caption read:

how the Peloton community likes to work out, by the numbers 📊
PS: let’s work on bumping up those warm-up/cool-down numbers in 2025, deal? 😉

Keep in mind that this is highly unscientific, as it reflects responses from a small, self-selecting group of people engaging with Instagram Stories – a tiny subset of the millions of Peloton members (and some who respond may not even be Peloton members). Still, the results provide some interesting insights.

The first question asked members about which time of day they like to work out: the morning vs. the evening, or “whenever” – i.e. no strong preference between the two. The results were: 60% morning, 16% evening, and 24% whenever.

Next, Peloton asked members how many days per week they work out. The average answer was six out of 7 days each week.

The next poll explored members’ longest streak of the year. Over half of respondents – 54% – answered that they kept up their streak for more than 151 days. 16% continued their streaks for a maximum between 51 and 150 days, and 30% maintained streaks between two and 50 days.

When asked where they spend the most time with Peloton – the Bike, Tread, Row, or mat – the overwhelming response was the Bike, with 62%. This was followed by 27% on the Tread, 10% on the mat, and only 1% on the Row.

The next question asked about the mat specifically, wondering which modality members gravitate towards most on the mat: strength, yoga and/or meditation, Pilates, or stretching. The overwhelming response was strength with 68% of respondents; followed by 17% for stretching, 10% for yoga/meditation, and 4% for Pilates.

The final question asked members whether they incorporate warmups and cool down as a part of their regular workout routine. In other words, warmup and cool down rides/runs, strength warm-ups, pre-workout stretching, etc. – classes that are typically five or 10 minutes in length. 48% of respondents answered affirmatively; 34% answered “no;” and 19% said they preferred to respond – suggesting the answer is “no.”

might be nice if they would do their surveys on their own site. I don’t do Instagram and Facebook. They are a waste of time
