Peloton alert about the change to streaks and third party workouts.

Peloton Now Counts Third-Party Workouts Imported from Garmin, Apple Health, and Fitbit Toward Streaks

Peloton has rolled out an update to its third-party integrations: as of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, workouts imported from connected apps like Apple Health, Garmin Connect, and Fitbit now count toward Peloton Daily and Weekly Streaks.

Peloton notified members of the change with an in-app push notification (“Your streak just got stronger”).

This is a change in policy from how third-party imports have worked since the integrations launched. When the Garmin Connect integration first rolled out last November. Members who relied on a Garmin watch, Fitbit, or Apple Watch to track non-Peloton workouts effectively had no way to keep a daily streak going without tracking workouts on both platforms. That has now changed.

Peloton states that full list of items that imported third-party workouts contribute includes:

  • Daily and Weekly Streaks
  • Activity metrics including Active Time, Activity Calendar, Workout Count, and Workout History
  • Team feeds, Team Challenges, and Team Leaderboards
  • Personalized Plan recommendations and insights
  • Performance Dashboard fitness scoring

The initial setup & connect screens have been updated to note that imported workouts now count towards streaks as well.

However, Peloton has kept third-party workouts excluded from a few specific things. Notably, imported workouts still do not count toward Peloton Milestones (e.g., your 100th Ride or 50th Strength class) or the corresponding Milestone badges. Those remain exclusive to classes taken on the Peloton platform itself. Imported workouts also cannot be shared socially or included in your bulk workout history download.

Peloton has also added a few visual changes to make imported workouts easier to spot. On the Active Days calendar, days with a third-party workout now appear as a shaded/striped circle, distinct from the solid purple “bubbles” used for Peloton workouts. The Workout History also has a toggle between “Peloton Workouts” (just Peloton classes, including Just Workout) and “All Workouts” (which adds imported activities to the count). The toggle was added earlier this year.

Imported workouts are now shaded, as seen on May 2 and 17 here.

One thing to be aware of: the change is not retroactive. Peloton’s notes that Streaks credit for third-party workouts only applies to activities synced from May 13, 2026 onwards. Prior imported workouts will not retroactively update existing Streaks. Peloton’s stated reason is “fairness” to members who built their Streaks under the previous rules.

Duplicate workouts are handled automatically. If the same workout shows up from multiple sources (for example, both Garmin and Apple Health), Peloton labels them as duplicates and only adds one instance to your history, with workouts completed directly on Peloton always prioritized.

Peloton has continued making updates to their third party integrations. In March, Peloton & Garmin updated their integration to allow two way syncing.

Are you planning to take advantage of the new Streak credit for your third-party workouts?
