Peloton has officially taken the beta label off the “Peloton Repowered” website – and expanded it to being available across the U.S.
First launched in beta in early June, Peloton Repowered is a marketplace for buying & selling used Peloton equipment, created and managed by Peloton with the help of their third party partner – Archive Resale.
Peloton is positioning their new marketplace as follows:
Repowered is ideal for cost-conscious customers interested in Peloton’s premium equipment, intuitive software, and engaging fitness content, all with a supportive community. Now, buyers can more easily find quality, second-hand Peloton equipment for sale within their local communities. This initiative not only makes premium Peloton equipment more accessible but also aligns with Peloton’s ongoing efforts to promote a more circular economy for our products and reduce environmental impact, providing a way for our community to join us in contributing to a sustainable future.
The Peloton Repowered marketplace initially only opened in 3 cities – DC, NYC, and Boston. That changes today, with it becoming available across the US.

The public launch is also rolling out in two phases, just like the beta did. Today, anyone the US can start listing their equipment for sale. Later in August, Peloton will then open up the buying side of the marketplace for anyone in the US to buy – once the inventory has been created & added.
At this time, most people will only have the choice of picking up themselves. There are plans to add a delivery service as part of the website as well in the future. This will allow people to have it delivered to their home as well – for an additional cost.
Peloton notes that “more than 400 equipment listings have been created” during the ~2 month beta period in NYC, Boston, and DC. However, they don’t note how many of those have actually been sold at this point.
If you are a seller on Peloton Repowered – you’ll get 70% of the proceeds of the sale – Peloton & Archive Resale will split the other 30%. The seller also gets a discount between $200 and $600 off a new piece of Peloton hardware.
The Repowered website will “offer suggested pricing guidance based on market trends and the condition of the equipment” – but it will let the seller decide the final price to list it at, if they don’t agree with the suggested price.
The buyer will get $50 off the used equipment activation fee, as well as “a buyer protection policy protects all purchases made on the marketplace, ensuring a secure and worry-free buying experience”, and a history report – which is now expanded to work on Treads & Rows as well.
Peloton’s Chief Product Officer Nick Caldwell said the following about the launch:
We aim to create a trusted marketplace for our Members to buy and sell pre-owned Peloton equipment, ensuring quality-checked products. This initiative provides a valuable service to our community, offering an accessible entry point for new Members, a convenient way for existing Members to upgrade or sell their equipment, and an opportunity for our equipment to be given a second life.
There has been no indication yet if, or when, Peloton may bring the Repowered marketplace to other countries outside of the United States.
