Jess Sims Off the Peloton Schedule Through January to Recover from Surgery

Peloton instructor Jess Sims recently underwent surgery and will be taking a temporary leave from her teaching schedule to focus on recovery.

She shared this update with her followers through a video on her Instagram account, saying that she “had surgery last Wednesday to repair my medial meniscus.”

During the video Jess provides more information about the situation.

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024 Jess had surgery to repair her medial meniscus on her right knee. This is the same knee that Jess tore her ACL in back in 2009. Jess shared that her diagnosis took some time because she experienced varying pain levels and the cause of the issue was not entirely clear at first.

Jess will be taking a break from teaching Peloton classes until at least the end of January 2025. However, towards the end of January or beginnging of February she will start easing back into some of her regular classes.

She took this opportunity to remind members who may also be dealing with an injury that this is not a sign of weakness; but rather, it is an opportunity to slow down and listen to your body.

Jess expressed gratitude for the support from her community and emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and well-being. She reassured her followers that she is in good spirits and is committed to returning to her classes stronger than ever.

She closed her post by telling people that “I can’t wait to be back working out with y’all, but I also look forward to the rest and recovery 🙂 I appreciate y’all so much ❤️”

Peloton recently built “off seasons” into the instructor schedules, with all instructors expected to take extended time off through the course of the year for various reasons.

Please join us in wishing Jess a timely and full recovery. We will share any updates regarding her return when the time comes!
