Jermaine “JJ” Johnson has a new strength training program available in Peloton’s Strength+ app called “Pure Pump 3.”
JJ’s latest program is a 1-week intermediate program – with only two 45 minute workouts. This 1-week program is designed to be repeated over multiple weeks so you can track your progress and see your improvements over time.

The official program description for “Pure Pump 3” is:
“2 Day Program: 45 min sessions. Day 1 is focused on heavy weights, Day 2 is focused on high reps. Build muscular strength & repeat weekly for results.”

In the program preview, JJ shared:
“Day 1 is pure strength. We’ll be lifting heavy weights and pushing you to your limits. Day 2 we’ll work on your strength and conditioning. This means medium weights, more reps, and a focus on single leg exercises. It might only be 2 days, but this program is designed to be taken again and again.”
If you take the “Pure Pump 3” program as designed, the required gym equipment includes a kettlebell, dumbbells, bench, and a lat pulldown cable machine. As always with the Strength+ app, if you do not have access to a certain piece of gym equipment, you can swap an exercise out for something comparable.
The suggested program schedule is workouts on days 1 and 4 with recovery on the remaining days.
JJ’s Pure Pump 3 Program Workouts on Peloton’s Strength+ App
Week 1
- Workout 1: 20 minute Full Body Pure Strength
- Workout 2: 20 minute Full Body Strength & Conditioning Burn
If you’re wondering how JJ’s third program compares to his previous two, the original “Pure Pump” was a 2-week intermediate program with workouts 3 times a week, each 45-60 minutes in duration. “Pure Pump 2” is a 6-week intermediate program with workouts 3 times a week, all 45 minutes each.
At time of publishing, the Peloton Strength+ app remains only available on iOS devices to Peloton members in the USA.

I can’t do the program unfortunately. I hate that the programs were disabled through the Roku app. I have a Samsung TV and it won’t allow me to cast from the Peloton app on my phone to my TV.
I don’t understand why that change was necessary.
