First “Club Peloton Live Class” On The Peloton Class Schedule

Peloton has another new way of airing classes on their platform now – a “Club Peloton Live Class.”

Update – The class is now available in the on-demand library for anyone to take after airing live for Legend members.

Previously, classes were dropped as “Live”, “Encore”, “Premiere”, or just showed up in the on-demand library.

Now, there is a new sub-type of Live class – this new “Club Peloton Live Class.”

These classes will only be available to take live if you are a specific level or higher in the “Club Peloton” membership program.

Peloton first launched Club Peloton in October as their membership recognition program – providing incentives people to stay active with Peloton (and to keep paying their monthly membership). At the time, Peloton teased that “early access to challenges or classes” could be one of the benefits of certain levels. This “Club Peloton Live Class” is the realization of how that will happen.

The first Club Peloton Live Class is taking place on Tuesday, December 9th @ 12:00pm ET. It is a cycling class taught by Robin Arzon, and is only available to “Legend” members in Club Peloton (the highest level one can earn).

For any member who has not hit “Legend” level in Club Peloton – you will currently not even see this class listed in your upcoming class schedule. It is only listed for those who are Legend or higher – and on the list, there will be an icon on the bottom right (under the checkbox to count yourself in) denoting it is a Club Peloton Live Class access.

The info page for the class shows more detailed information – showing that “You’ve unlocked a Club Peloton live class”, and that you “Get early access as a Legend member.”

The Peloton app has been updated to show this – although members may need to update their app if they haven’t in the past week or two. Peloton hardware has also been updated so that the class schedule will show these classes to the appropriate members, based on individual Club Peloton levels.

Although the live class will only be available for “Legend” members – once the live class is over, it will be added to the on-demand library like a regular class. This means a few hours after the live class is over – any member can take it as part of the on-demand library, just like normal.

Peloton has yet to share how many, or how often, “Club Peloton Live Classes” will be taking place.

While this first “Club Peloton Live Class” is only available for Legend level – the top tier on Club Peloton – the system is expected to support classes locked to different levels. For example, we could see classes that are only available for Gold & higher, or other variations of the Club Peloton tiers.

Update – A few days after this class appeared on the live schedule, Peloton also emailed Legend level members notifying them of the class, and teasing “shout-outs just for your crew.”

This is the second major perk for Club Peloton that has been rolled out. The first was Peloton Apparel discounts. A new system allows for discounts at the Peloton Apparel store based on your level (which stack with other discounts), as well as one time discount codes with lululemon for some Legend members.
