Raymond “Ray” David Johnson was born on August 3, 2024. Jermaine shared the news via Instagram today, saying:

Meet our ray of sunshine,
Raymond “Ray” David Johnson, born Saturday, 3rd August, at 15:06, weighing 3.7kg.
It’s been hard to find the words to announce our beautiful son’s arrival into the world. I now understand why people say nothing can ever truly prepare you for it.

Jermaine goes on to explain that the first few days were challenging and frightening, with Ray having to spend some time in the NICU. However, they have since taken him home and are grateful and looking forward to starting this new chapter of their lives.

Jermaine first shared that he and his wife were expecting in March. Jermaine will be off the live schedule for some time on paternity leave.

His entrance into the world was definitely dramatic, my wife did an incredible job birthing him. Despite some complications along the way, she remained resilient, strong, and focused every step of the way. I can’t express the respect and gratitude I have for my amazing wife for growing our child and bringing him into the world. We had less than a few hours with Ray before he was taken away to NICU for round-the-clock observation and treatment. This was the worst 72 hours of my entire life but I cannot thank the doctors and nurses enough at Homerton Hospital for looking after our baby boy. Not being able to take our boy home the way we both imagined was incredibly painful but seeing other parents strength in the neonatal unit was truly humbling. I split my time between him & my wife as they recovered and we were reunited with him in the special care unit, where my wife could stay with him until we got to take him home. Today is that day & we are filled with the most indescribable love for our little man and cannot wait to enjoy this wild ride & get some semblance of normality back.
My wife and I are so very grateful for the amazing friends and family around us who checked in, helped us, showing massive love & support – giving us that extra bit of strength that helped us
