Peloton recently teamed up with Spelman College and The Steve Fund – a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people of color – to host a special event for the Spelman community that featured instructor Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts.
The event was called Restorative Reflections: Emotional Wellness for the Spelman Community.

According to the press release:
This isn’t just another event—it’s a movement. Tailored specifically for the women of Spelman College, a global leader in the education of women of African descent, Restorative Reflections will offer students, faculty, and staff the tools to support them in thriving in a world that often demands too much. Through interactive workshops, thought-provoking discussions, and immersive mindfulness experiences, attendees will explore what it means to cultivate compassion, resilience, and emotional wellness in their personal, academic, and professional lives.
The event took place on Wednesday, March 5 at Spelman College, and was a collaboration between Spelman, Peloton, and The Steve Fund. Chelsea has posted a number of Stories from the event to her Instagram account.

The schedule included a series of events focused on mindfulness, emotional resilience, and mental health support. Chelsea – who is also a Spelman alumna – led a morning session on meditation and stress management to help participants find inner strength and stillness. Later, a panel discussion on emotional resilience, moderated by Frances Cloud, featured Dr. Roberts, Shona Pinnock, and Dr. Rae Lundy. They explored challenges faced by women of color, the importance of self-care, and strategies for overcoming adversity. Additionally, the Steve Fund led empowerment workshops with Dr. Janice Beal and Dr. Lundy, addressing peer support, mental health stigma, and resilience-building strategies.
Interim President of Spelman College Rosalind “Roz” Brewer provided the below quote about the event:
“At Spelman College, we are committed to nurturing the holistic well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, ensuring they have the tools to thrive emotionally, academically, and professionally. We are proud to partner with Peloton and the Steve Fund to create an event that celebrates the resilience and strength of women of color. Together, we are building a future where emotional wellness is prioritized, and our community is empowered to lead with confidence and compassion.”
