Report: U.S. House of Representatives Newest Member of Peloton Corporate Wellness Program

Update – The House has cancelled this contract with Peloton following some pushback. You can read more about that here.

FOX Business is reporting that the U.S. House of Representatives will join Peloton’s Corporate Wellness program, and provide staff free Peloton memberships starting this month.

According to a draft email from the office of the House of Representatives Chief Administrative Officer obtained by FOX Business:

Beginning May 18, the government contract with fitness giant Peloton, under efforts from the House Center for Well-Being, will be offered to the estimated 10,000 people on staff working for the House of Representatives and about 2,300 Capitol Police officers.

The House of Representatives staff includes those who serve on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.; those who serve in district offices for members of Congress all around the country; and Capitol Police Officers.

FOX Business reports that the contract cost is a $10,000 advance payment to Peloton, plus an additional $10 per month charge for each individual who takes advantage of the benefit by becoming a Peloton App member. The partnership does not yet appear to be extending towards any Peloton hardware purchases.

Peloton provided a statement to FOX Business, stating they “can confirm that the US House of Representatives is extending Peloton Corporate Wellness to all House staff and Capitol police.”

Peloton launched their new corporate wellness program in June of 2021. The program allows companies to offer employees discounted or subsidized access to Peloton memberships, as well as special offers on Peloton devices. Major companies such as Accenture, Nasdaq, Sky, Samsung, and SAP have already taken advantage.
