Peloton posted a teaser video on their social media channels about a new “Pelothon 2020” challenge. The dates for the challenge will be from July 13th – August 9th, 2020.

What is the Pelothon 2020? Details are still vague. At this point, only the following is known:

This summer, get ready for Pelothon 2020. 6 teams, 4 weeks of events and challenges in support of hunger relief globally.

If you look at the logo, it looks quite similar to the activity rings of an Apple Watch – this is likely an intentional design choice. Based on this, one might expect Peloton to challenge members to do a certain number of activity minutes either every day, or across the entire month. As far as the teams, each team will probably have at least one instructor from every sport (bike, tread, yoga, bootcamp, strength, etc). Peloton also talks about “events” happening during the time frame, so there could also be some special live classes, in addition to some featured content on social media (interviews & talks). And for any badge hunters out there, this might be an opportunity to add a new Pelothon 2020 badge too!

This at least the third fundraiser Peloton has done this year around raising money for hunger related causes. In April, Peloton UK donated £100,000 to The Trussell Trust, and in March, Peloton donated $500,000 to Food Bank For New York City.

We’ll have more details about the Pelothon 2020 as they become available.
