Peloton Ranks #2 on Annual Prophet Brand Index for the Second Year in a Row & #1 For Pushing the Status Quo

For the second year in a row Peloton secured the #2 spot on Prophet’s annual Brand Relevance Index.

The Prophet Brand Relevance Index measures a company’s brand relevance – in other words, which brands matter most to consumer’s daily lives? The report clarifies, “The top brands that consumers can’t imagine living without are relentlessly relevant. They are equal parts head and heart – solving everyday problems while making consumers feel delight and joy.”

Second only to Apple, the report explains Peloton’s runner up ranking:

It may have pedaled into America’s living rooms as a pandemic placeholder for gyms and fitness studios. But even as it muddles through business challenges, its most loyal subscribers crave this motivating community. It ranks first for pushing the status quo.

To develop the index, Prophet surveyed more than 13,500 consumers and looked at 293 brands in 27 industries. The top 10 brands according to the 2022 index were:

  1. Apple
  2. Peloton
  3. Spotify
  4. Bose
  5. Android
  6. Instant Pot
  7. PlayStation
  8. Fitbit
  9. TED
  10. USAA

According to the report, the top companies are those that allow consumers to engage with one another remotely: “The biggest brands – Apple, Peloton, Spotify, Bose, Android – are tech fueled, can be personalized and help people connect human-to-human without leaving the house.”

The report also highlights a quote from Peloton’s SVP, Head of Global Marketing & Communications Dara Treseder:

We put our Members first and design an experience around them that makes fitness so motivating and exhilarating that they love it and stick with it.
