Peloton officially confirms scenic rides & runs are now only available on Peloton Bike or Tread

On Thursday, we reported that Peloton began displaying a message that scenic rides would be removed from the app. At the time we weren’t sure whether this was for digital-only users or would impact all members – but speculated it could mean new scenic rides would launch at homecoming. On Friday, Peloton officially announced a scenic workout relaunch, with 3 new types of scenic classes: guided, distance, and time based.

However, with the new scenic classes, came a new restriction – Peloton is making them only available on Peloton hardware, which at this time is the Bike, Bike+, Tread, and Tread+. Their blog post announcing the new feature shared this news:

That’s where Peloton’s revamped scenic rides & runs come in, available from your touchscreen on the Bike or Bike+ and Tread or Tread+.

Peloton’s support page for the new scenic classes also confirms this is on purpose:

Please Note: This feature will only be available on Peloton Bikes and Treads. Previous scenic rides/runs will no longer be available but this will not affect your class count.

As the page state, the previous list of scenic rides & runs can still be viewed in your history – but it is now impossible to take them, whether you try from the Peloton website, the app, or a Bike or Tread.

Peloton has also been posting similar messaging on social media to questions about scenic rides:

Hi there! Scenic classes are only available to All-Access Members on the Bike and Tread and will not be available to take on the Peloton App. We apologize for the inconvenience and understand that our original Scenic classes have been an important part of your workout routine. Existing Scenic classes will no longer be available, but your workout count and history will not be affected.

A comment from Peloton on questions about scenic rides on the Peloton app.

Peloton sent an email to members who had taken scenic classes in the last few weeks notifying them directly of this change:

We are reaching out because you have used one of our scenic classes on the app in the last few weeks.

We have made the decision to remove our current selection of scenic classes from the app. Beginning April 30, 2021, you will no longer be able to access scenic rides and runs from any apps, including on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Roku and on the web. They will only be available on Peloton hardware. Your current workout count and history will not be affected.

We have overhauled our scenic classes to elevate the experience on Peloton hardware, with new features like responsive video playback and distance-based workouts. These features are unique to the new Peloton scenic classes and are best experienced on hardware. If you are interested in learning more about our new scenic features, please check out our blog here.

You will still have access to our library of thousands of other on-demand classes, with new classes added frequently. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for being a part of the Peloton community.

At this time it isn’t clear if there are if there would be any technical limitations preventing the classes from being taken on Peloton Digital apps, or it’s simply a change in marketing plans to try to motivate people who are on the $13/month Peloton Digital plan to purchase a Bike or Tread, and upgrade to the $39.99 Peloton All-Access Membership.

For those who loved the old scenic rides, they appear to be available from the company who originally produced them if you wish to subscribe to still have access to them – Virtual Active. The company has scenic ride subscriptions available for for $9.99/month or $99.99/year. Note that we have not been able to confirm every scenic class is available on the platform, so sign up at your own risk! You also wouldn’t be able to play them on Peloton hardware, but instead, would use a mobile device to play them.

I’m so disappointed. This vast library of scenic runs was not why I got the Tread+, but it quickly became a beloved feature. I’ve tried one of the new guided runs as well as a timed scenic run and a distance scenic run, and while I enjoyed the guided run with Matt Wilpers, the other two runs were disappointing. The camera movement seemed very jerky and gave me the odd sensation of trying to move through a vat of peanut butter. The lack of variety is also disappointing.

  • Ron says:

Seriously considering cancelling my $40 membership. Lost all my ride history and the feature of being able to see where you stand vs other riders in scenic ride is gone. Takes out the competitive aspect. Tried a new scenic ride and it was garbage. Camera was very jerky and was going so slow felt like I was coasting. They just ruined a great product. No wonder their stock is tanking.

  • Bob says:

There are now only 5 scenic rides of 30 min but more imoortantly there is no leaderboard!!! Whats the point?! The leaderboard was the competitive motivator! My $2000 peloton is now worth $0 to me.

  • Sam says:

Outrageous. I was going to order my peloton this week and will not be now.

  • Marsha says:

I am also very disappointed in the new Scenic rides. Not that it will do any good but I sent an email to Peloton to express my disappointment. They were my favorite part of Peloton. The music was highly motivating. Now the music on the scenic rides is the same stuff that you h e a r in the classes.

  • Robin says:

What a lame decision here, Peleton! Not cool. Why would they delete all of those awesome scenic rides? Really unhappy customer here 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

  • Zack says:

Total garbage. No leaderboard no deal. Only use the scenic rides. Bush league!

  • Sara says:

This is unacceptable. To completely remove an entire aspect of the peloton that a fair amount of people solely use (and PAY for) is NOT cool. The leaderboard on the scenic rides was 1000% motivational. And now they’re all just…gone. Come on peloton, I’d like to think you are better than that. Clearly you are not.

  • Matt russell says:

Very disappointing. This was my favorite feature of the bike. Competing against others my age. Making each other better. Too bad peloton didn’t ask the people that subscribe. Bad decision.

  • Jason Weaver says:

The scenic rides they offered is why I bought a peloton. Now they are jerky boring rides with no leader boards and music I could care less about. The old options were nice get aways. Reviewing my return policy now.

  • Paula says:

I’m so ticked! The scenic rides were the only ones I’ve been doing recently because of a bad knee. And I love them. I had several bookmarked. This is bullsh*t. I may be getting rid of this stupid bike now.

  • Lori says:

I was really disappointed when I turned on my Peloton bike today to find out about the crappy change Peloton made in the scenic ride option. I used to like the mountain bike trails in the scenic rides the best and now they’re all gone! I also like the competitive aspect of the leader board which isn’t there anymore. I wish companies would listen to their customers and see what they want. If Peloton wanted to get rid of the scenic rides on the app, fine. But they shouldn’t punish the people who bought the bike and are paying the full $40/month membership!

  • Nate says:

The leaderboard and catalog of scenic rides was the only reason I got on this thing. Why take away the competitive aspect of it that your paying customers enjoy? This doesn’t make sense and a very poor decision.

  • Len Zabala says:

Whaaaaat? Peloton! Why don’t you just remove the seat from my bike next, (actually I own 2 bikes) and tell me I can rent one for $9.99/month from SitOnThis.com…
First you removed all of Hincappie’s videos (Pro cyclist) now this… is it that you want me to take those juiced up classes with lousy music and cartoonishly muscled, over-hyped instructors… c’mon, i just want to re-live my glorious youth climbing up Tourmalet, or some Italian Alps… c’mon, you really know how to ruin a good thing!!!

  • Kathy Crater says:

My guess is they did this to save money. Perhaps there weren’t enough of us using this feature to justify the cost. I understand they have a big lawsuit facing them and perhaps they cut the scenic ride expense to pay for that? I almost always use the scenic rides, especially the New Zealand National Parks ride or the Hawaiian Volcano rides. I put some Hawaiian music on Pandora and away I’d go! I’m very disappointed to have these taken away.

  • Andrew Kirk says:

An awful change! Enjoyed the old version – why not offer both?!? Hairbrained.
My primary use is with the longer scenic rides – there’s only one 45 minute ride now – and really enjoyed riding along via the leaderboard, cut down on the boredom. Shame

  • James says:

I was also really disappointed. My wife loves guided classes, but we decided to splurge on a Peloton because I loved the scenic rides so I would use the bike too (we used her parents’ bike a few times before getting our own).

I’m generally not into guided classes (part of the reason I got into scenic rides in the first place) and the camera work on the responsive distance rides is odd. I mostly just miss the variety—there are now far fewer scenic rides.

  • Joe says:

This was a very demotivating change and unexpected. it is the only rides I do, they are great based on the competitive tracking with all time and currently riding. really pushed me to ride at pace. No value for the bike and monthly membership for me. If it is a cost reduction really sucks.

  • Alison Bartle says:

I am really upset about the loss of the scenic rides. They were fantastic! The musics was neutral music that I could zone into a workout. The leaderboard really helped me to get competitive and push myself.
The new scenic rides are a total bore and the music is awful. I’m am not interested in them.
I don’t do a lot of the classes because I find the instructions annoying.
Peloton- Bring Back the Scenic Rides!

  • Tavolo says:

For all of you/us dedicated Scenic riders, let’s hit them where it hurts! Cancel your membership. I’m done!

  • Ryan says:

All I ever used were the scenic rides. The new alternatives are not enjoyable, much less variety, poor music pairing, no leaderboard. This move really cheapens the Peloton experience. I will not be recommending Peloton to friends and colleagues anymore. Bring back the scenic rides!

  • Renee Santelli says:

Very disappointed! May take up the recall now with this change. So enjoyed the many scenic runs. It was one of reasons spent this much $ on a treadmill.

  • Robert H Smith says:

I don’t get it. What advantage is there to disregard the interests of thousands who enjoyed the soft sound rides and wern’t trying to be a slim fit or a world class athlete Just getting some exercise. How does this improve anything. You had better put them back in the file so we can all enjoy the Peroton

  • Sue Briskie says:

Super sad/mad @ this crazy change. Who wants an instructor barking @ you when it’s supposed to be a “scenic” ride. Totally cheapens the bile.
    Peloton-listen to your followers!

  • Marcia says:

All I ever used were the scenic rides. Have already sent 2 complaint emails to Peloton Support about the unmotivating music that accompany the new ones. Hope everyone else does likewise. We need true cycling music plus the Here Now Leaderboard back. Not interested in guided sessions. If I was I’d take the regular classes. Also the new distance ones were not worth repeating. Ridiculous that I had to use a work around today to get a good session in. Turned off the volume on the 60 minute ride and played the first cycling music selection that came up on YouTube, where fortunately I have a Premium Membership. Gained 12 output points vs. doing it 3 days ago with their music. And it was FUN today!

  • Jeff Sklar says:

This totally sucks! I use the leader board and my own music on the scenic rides to motivate my workouts. This is a big mistake. I am considering selling my Peleton to someone who doesn’t know what they are missing! Did they survey users? What lousy customer satisfaction!

  • Maggie says:

I could not agree more with everyone who has commented here. I sent an email but I’m sure it will be ignored. The new music sucks, the fact that there are only 6 rides available sucks. The distance ones have terrible camera movement and I just took one that repeated the same route once you got to the “end.” It was only 5k, so I was seeing the exact same stretch of road about 5 minutes after I saw it the first time. WTF Peloton?? I’m super pissed about this. Incredibly bad decision.

  • T Perry says:

Total garbage!! No point without a leader board and the amount of classes suck! Minnesota Mountains was my go to ride to unwind. No way I renew my membership, and I’m not a guy who can listen to or need the instructors to motivate me. Goodbye Peloton

  • Kraig says:

Very disappointed to lose all of the scenic rides (I set a personal goal to complete them all, and was working towards that then they just took them away). Liked to be able to see my personal best and pace against that, and see ‘who’s here now’ vs all time leaderboards. (want from ~100 30-minute rides to ~4, what a joke)

  • Ken-Da-Turtle says:

Extremely disappointed and totally shocked! As with all the other peleton scenic riders, I loved the competitiveness and motivation of seeing others – i cant believe its gone! All I did was the 60 min rides and now there is only one!! AND, the videographer who filmed the route is doing zig-zag snakes on the road – who does that!!! That is so unprofessional – is this all a joke?!! No longer a supporter. #PeletonSucks

  • Ken-Da-Turtle says:

Insult to Injury – tried the Monterey ride – who rides down the center divider of the road! I quit out and just went with just plain riding and the app is broken – keeps on the screen to restart. Can’t even just spin – Peleton is BROKEN and not worth the money after all.

  • Ken says:

Insult to Injury – tried the Monterey ride – who rides down the center divider of the road! I quit out and just went with just plain riding and the app is broken – keeps on the screen to restart. Can’t even just spin – Peleton is BROKEN and not worth the money after all.

  • Paul Crofton says:

Agree with everyone. So disappointed they removed the scenic rides. I only do those and now I may look into returning bike. Come on Peloton!

  • ht says:

i just spent 1 hr completing the new spain’s andalusia ride, and it didn’t save any of my stats. this is terrible! what a piece of junk!

  • Patrick Donovan says:

Why would they do this? So stupid. I literally did a scenic ride every night as a cool down from my run on the tread. I’m a bit over peloton and whoever is making boneheaded calls like this.

  • Rachel says:

Soo sooo upset!! I agree with almost every comment so far! The reason I got the tread and kept using it daily was because of the scenic routes! These new ones are ridiculous. They are slooooow, like you should be walking at a 1.0! I am 100% disappointed and fear I will stop using my tread! I may just get my refund now, since they have a lawsuit against them concerning the little one that lost life due to the tread. 100% disappointed and I used to tell everyone it was so worth it for the versatility and the ability to literally feel like you weren’t even in your space anymore and could be on an island in Hawaii. And this music I’m listening to now….wow! A big fat FAIL y’all! If you were thinking of getting Peloton I would strongly consider something much less expensive now.

  • Karen says:

The new scenic rides are a huge disappointment!!! Peloton should offer access to the old rides as part of the many collections that are offered.

  • Keukajoe says:

Time to short this stock with recent stupid scenic ride change. I could not agree more with the other messages here. Big disconnect probably from peloton management that does not exercise.

  • Phil Hammond says:

So what exactly ARE we getting for the membership fee? I don’t want to be yelled at by the trainers or listen to the terrible music selection.

Scenic runs of decent lengths around a variety of cities and places I have actually been was cool. A path in the middle of nowhere Portugal is hardly interesting or inspiring.

Please add me to the list of disappointed appointed people you obviously don’t care about anyway.

    Thanks

  • Ken-Da-Turtle says:

Did anyone notice that Peleton’s big change to the Scenic Ride itself was the tide in your moh speed to the speed of the video. It’s so jerky now and not smooth with the video it makes me motion sick! I am sure they spent a bunch of money on the technology but it is totally worthless. Now I use my iPad on a stand with youtube videos for the simulation. What a mess Peleton.

  • JR Wilson says:

This is garbage, I have both the bike and treadmill and only ever did the scenic routes. I don’t like the classes and listen to my own music and liked using the scenery as a way of getting me on the treadmill or bike, now there are only a handful of courses which will be gone through in a week and they are slow and awful. Watching someone bike or run from behind is not motivating.

  • James Lightfoot says:

I might have just finished my last Peloton ride. Peloton have just removed the features I loved most about the bike and turned it into just another boring, un-motivating over-priced exercise bike. The scenic rides were truly brilliant, and the leaderboard was extremely motivating. The new, scaled-down update is a game-changer – it’s removed Peloton from the game. Very angy, very disappointed and very sad. If my wife didn’t enjoy the classes, I’d cancel and sell it in a heart-beat. Now have to find an alternative to fill the hole Peloton have created. Aweful.

  • TRB says:

It’s either they didn’t listen to their customers or don’t care. Absolutely the only reason I got a Peloton. Seriously considering cancelling my membership.

  • Sandy Blakeslee says:

I detest the new guided rides and miss the scenic rides, especially the climbing routes. I’ve cycled in over a dozen countries and find the scenic rides come closest to what I love about riding outdoors. Please bring back the scenic rides and ditch the horrible music you’ve added to the guided rides.

  • Marcia Stanek says:

Yet something else to be upset about. Just did the 30 minute Cuyahoga Valley Ride. (Audio off and using YouTube music to avoid the awful music selections.) Stats were visible at ride’s end on the screen, but were not saved. Workout history shows, “There are no stats for this workout.” Never happened to me with the former rides.

  • Rhonda Coote says:

They mention the scenic rides are only available on the Peleton hardware, I don’t see any access to the old scenic rides. Not sure what they mean unless it is the new scenic rides which are not the same!
I often thought about downloading these, don’t know if that would of solved the issue but I am definitely looking at competition.

  • Dave says:

To all my fellow riders who are pissed as I am at pelotons moronic decision to destroy the scenic rides. Cancel your membership. Hit them where it hurts.

    Nordictrack here I come.

  • Dave says:

I emailed peloton about their moronic decision to destroy the scenic rides. They replied that they changed it to ‘provide a non competitive workout experience’. Haha. What does that even mean?
My membership is now cancelled and the bike is for sale. This company is a joke.

  • K says:

Terrible change. Thousands of former scenic riders are pissed. Bring it back, idiots.

  • Jeff glenn says:

I have been using the scenic rides about 90% of the time and now they are just gone! I am 74 and used to be a runner. Can’t run any more but found that using the scenic rides was as close as I’m going to get to the peaceful solitude of a nice run. So now I’m wondering why I should pay $40 per month. They just took away my favorite aspect of Peloton.

  • Kitesurfdad says:

My wife likes the classes but I don’t. My whole Peleton experience has been scenic rides with the leaderboard pushing me to ride harder. I am VERY disappointed. Here is what I submitted to support:

“the new Scenic rides are a disaster. I understand Peleton has to run a business but really? 1) You MUST reinstall the leaderboard – there is SO much chatter online about this. This was the ONLY reason I have a Peleton and 2) you need to increase the number of scenic rides so you have more options and 3) if you are going to do distance rides then how about 50K, 75K, 100K, 125K and not 5K and 10K. I am not running a foot race here.

Those are my 3 suggestions. I am super disappointed at the Scenic Ride “update”. The business unit who made this decision should all be fired.”

  • Kitesurfdad says:

A recommendation on the Peleton forum is to keep doing the scenic rides but to downvote them so Peleton notices. You can also contact support which is what I did (see previous post).

  • Dennis Paul Block says:

Unbelievable. I want to cancel. You guys are attempting to save money? Terrible decision.

  • Junqing Chen says:

After looking at the barren road in Spain for 30 mins, I decided to cancel the membership. I cannot believe they just take away my favorite park like this!

  • Cosmo42 says:

I can’t believe you would eliminate the best part of the Peloton experience for thousands of riders. Did someone get their feelings hurt for having a competitive aspect? I know several of the scenic rides had over 300,000 rides. You would think management would take things like volume into consideration. Why didn’t you just add a non-competitive section and leave the old section alone. And to top that off, you set it all to the worst music possible. No cadence to ride to just garbage.

  • Alistair Macdonald says:

The loss of scenic rides is a joke. No competition anymore, it’s absolute BS!! This was the reason why I wanted a Peleton, now it’s a piss poor watt bike only twice as expensive. I’ve contacted Peleton UK to ask for my money back, they have materially changed what the product is and does. Poor. Very very poor.

  • Mary. Cantrell says:

The only reason I bought the bike was for the scenic routes. I’ve had surgery after surgery on my back and finally made the plunge about three months ago to buy the peloton. I was so excited there was 65 10 minute routes. I did 40 of them, then went on and they were all deleted. If they don’t fix this problem I don’t even want the bike. The pressure of an instructor for me at this part of my health is too much. I like to road and challenge myself with everybody else at my age. I hope they read all of this. If not I have a bike for sale

  • SY says:

I also filed a complaint with Peloton, and am currently considering returning my bike. The new scenic rides are boring, the guided tours are annoying and make me motion sick with constant sideways views and a new camera angle every few seconds. No leaderboard? I burn half of the calories I used to when I was trying to climb the board. Poor change management, Peloton, you should be ashamed and I hope it hits you where it hurts, your P&L.

  • Sandra says:

This changes everything for me. I’m a very competitive person and to be able to look who’s riding with was my drive. I hate peloton now. Wish I never got it.

  • Tony says:

The only reason I bought the bike was for the competitive aspect of being able to see who I was riding with. It motivated me beyond belief! Now, it’s just a boring ride. Hopefully Peloton sales tank as nothing sets them apart from the “competition” …oops, I said a scary word, “competition”…but Peloton doesn’t compete against anyone…not at all…Nordic Track anyone??

  • Ryan lentz says:

The new scenic rides are horrible. I have always spoken positively about Peloton and my experience with the bike, but no longer can I speak positively about my bike experience with Peloton. Hugely disappointed and beyond frustrated. Peloton must be pushing uses to the group classes – which is not why I purchased the Peloton bike.

Yo, Peloton, figure this out – there are obviously a lot of users who are not happy about your “new ” scenic rides and that these rides do not even track metrics – its the year 2021 and the lack of tracking metrics is like 1970 technology at an high price point. Listen to your frustrated users and figure this out! I would like to enjoy my peloton bike experience again.

  • Dennis Orr says:

There was always an option to hide the leader board for those who didn’t like the competition. So Peloton’s excuse of creating a non-competitive workout environment is senseless.

  • LLPNAZ says:

Same on the tread. The entire library of scenic runs was wiped out and replaced. Such a disappointment! I really enjoyed the variety and was always hoping they would add more which is completely opposite of what they did. The new selection is so limited.

  • Erin says:

Okay, I’m going to disagree with everyone. I like the new scenic rides! LOVE the new guided rides (can’t wait for more) and that you can now pick by distance instead of time. I find that challenges me. I like the themed/modern music (I don’t know how anyone can feel nostalgic for the old elevator music from the previous scenic rides… it was like riding in a grocery store). If you don’t like the new music… duh! Freaking mute the bike and play your own playlist! Yeesh). I also like the new fancy camera work and I think the videos are better quality. Some of the old scenic rides where weird with all the traffic and tourists wandering across roads and through the shots and the camera was so slow! There where only a few I liked. 100s of videos and I only ever used 5-6 of them. Mostly for warm ups and cool downs. Of course there’s fewer options people! Obviously it’s going to take some time for them to build a catalog! And for those people complaining about how there’s only 1x Hour long scenic ride now… use the fancy new stack feature and combine some shorter rides until they have chance to make more. Obviously Peloton’s bread and butter is always going to be the instructor rides. That’s there market and their brand! That’s what most people buy the bike for. If you just want an excersize bike, videos of scenic locals, and elevator music… you can get that with a cheap excersize bike, Spotify account, and YouTube videos on your TV. So for those talking about canceling their membership.. maybe you should? I don’t understand why you signed up to begin with if all you wanted was a bike and pretty videos? Shrug.

  • Mike Marsico (Mike_Onabike1) says:

Very unhappy with the new scenic rides. I never do less than 30 min scenic rides and now my selection has become extremely limited. I love to ride longer distances. I cannot believe there is only 6 30 min scenic rides and one 60 minute scenic ride. Kinda boring to ride the same route over and over. I would rather leave that to the actual road rides that I do. I really hope that Peloton realizes this was a bad move to have such limited long distance/time scenic rides and gets some more content of this nature added in the near future. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

  • Anthony Hagen says:

What is the reasoning for these scenic ride changes? Is it the suits wanting to squeeze some more money out of us. I used to love competing against myself and others in my age group. they are taking all the fun out of the experience.

  • Roger Davidson says:

    Roger

One of the worst decisions I have seen in 30 years of consumer oriented businesses.
Like others I bought this Peloton for the scenic rides. Could care less about the
instructors or staring at some guy’s butt on these BS guided tours. Ex-Pelotons…..
this move is called a “bait and switch.” What happened to all the integrity that the
founder espoused as he built this company. Appears the number crunchers have
taken over and destroyed a compelling customer experience. Damn shame.
Cancelling my subscription as well. Back to Lifetime Fitness

  • Kirk Rossberg says:

I am disappointed as well with the changes made to the scenic ride. It no longer counts those miles as part of the monthly challenges and it takes away the feeling of community that was so great with Peloton. I am not interested in instructor guided workouts and I do miss giving the high fives and the competition with my fellow scenic riders.

  • Gogoriffic says:

Add me to the list of disappointed scenic riders. Loved the leaderboard with my own personal workout and competitve ride performance with others. The removal of our personal leaderboard history and the capabilities with little if any notice or consideration is very disappointing. It’s a classic example of both poor product management and lousy customer relationship management. I will now watch YouTube scenic rides without all the hammy talking and play my own music. Finally I will share this story as a classic example of a tone deaf “brand” prone to pulling the plug without warning in the interest of more platform star engagement or whatever.

  • Gail Payne says:

Terrible change! We are new to Peloton and experienced bicycle tourists. We loved the motivation of the leaderboard and the truly professional videography. The new rides are boring and amateurish. Cancelling our subscription. Please bring the great scenic rides back. I planned on doing all of them!

  • Gary says:

I am so frustrated. The scenic rides is why I chose to buy Peloton. Now they are gone with no valid reason.
My guess is that with the Tread+ lawsuits/safety concern; Peloton is looking for any way to recoup lost revenue and most likely was paying a licensing fee to “the company that originally produced them” and has ended that relationship. I am going to end my relationship with Peloton over this. If it does not change back quickly, the bike and subscription are gone. There are plenty of bikes out there that offer this simple function.

  • Kelly says:

The reason I bought the peloton was for the scenic rides. Such a disappointment. You ruined a good product. I told numerous my friends to buy peloton’s but now I will definitely put it out on Facebook not to buy it unless you put the scenic rides back on and give us more choices. If you were going to cut corners get rid of some of the instructors because some of them are lousy and vulgar. Very disappointed in you peloton

  • Bob says:

Wow! Just learned about this after being away for a year. Soooooooo disappointed in this. I only did the scenic rides . I’m hoping this gets out on some main news broadcasts and describing how dissatisfied everyone is with this decision. Everyone needs to call the peloton headquarters and let them know.

  • Bob says:

Ok…decided I don’t need the Peloton scenic rides as I’ll watch the scenic rides made for us bikers on YouTube. Yep, instead of giving peloton the $40 monthly fee, I’ll use it to purchase a nice tv to install in front of my bike and watch the YouTube biking scenes…bye peloton scenic rides!

  • Violet Opal says:

I am so upset! I have disabilities and the only reason I bought the Peleton bike was for the many, many scenic rides where I could go at my own pace and see beautiful scenic locations. This is so unfair to eliminate the platform and offer such a limited selection, some of which are guided! I need the volume of scenic rides to be restored!!! So upset.

  • Michelle says:

Really the only reason I bought my Peleton was because I loved the whole idea is the scenic rides!!! Hadn’t been on it for awhile and was excited to get back on and start riding. Scenic rides were my motivation! Now what?

  • Pepper says:

So disappointed in the removal of the scenic rides. I am cancelling my subscription now. I’ll just watch a podcast on my phone and record my own metrics. Greatly regret spending the money on Peloton. For three years, I sang its praises but definitely will not recommend again. 🙁

  • Sue says:

Echoing everyone above, this was my reason for buying a Peloton. I emailed the company & got an uninformative reply that left a “we got your cash so it sucks to be you” taste in my mouth. BIZ OPPORTUNITY: Okay, IT entrepreneurs. Any company that creates adaptive tech (sw or a hardware add-on) to run scenic ride content on my Peloton can have my subscription dollars – I’ll drop Peloton like a hot rock!

  • Erik says:

All, I’m among those of us that still hold out some hope that Peloton will reverse this silly policy. The only way that is likely to happen is if they see it impacts their revenue. I have suspended my subscription for two months and told them I’ll cancel if they haven’t restored it by then. I don’t mind if they restrict the number of scenic rides… you probably all noticed that for any particular time category only a few were popular, but the leaderboard facility has to come back… that is the great motivator. It’s not only about competing against others, it’s also about competing against yourself.

  • Dave says:

Did anyone else just get a message that the leaderboard is back on the scenic rides? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  • Lori Baldwin says:

Don’t fall for their poor marketing language stating they want us to have a better experience. These new scenic routes are terrible. They used cheap technology. The truth is that Virtual Active wanted more money to use their technology and Peloton was too cheap and thought they could do it themselves, which they were wrong! The scenic routes quickly became my favorite morning runs….so disappointed in Peloton.

  • Evelyn says:

    Peloton

You have ruined my entire experience on the peloton. Someone at headquarters should read all these angry posts from many others who are also upset. That’s the only feature I used on peloton once I learned the basic speed and resistance features. The new stuff is awful. Bring them back! You make enough money to pay the company that makes them. Cheapskates!
