Peloton offering Paid Civic Time Off (CTO) program for employees

Yesterday, Peloton CEO John Foley took to Twitter and announced a new benefit they were providing to their employees: Paid Civic Time Off (CTO)

Over this past transformative year, the Peloton team has shared how important it is to have space & time for team members to exercise their civic responsibilities & be active members of their communities. To support our team, today we introduced Paid Civic Time Off (CTO)

Under our CTO program, our team will be able to engage in civic endeavors including voting, volunteering for a candidate, participating in peaceful and lawful demonstrations, or any other time devoted to civic participation.

Our team never ceases to inspire me and together, we will use our actions and voices to shape the world in which we work and live for the better.

This is not the first time Peloton has encouraged their employees to get involved in civic endeavors. Peloton completely closed down their US offices & studios last November so all employees could have a chance to vote in the US presidential election.

According to some reports we have seen, it appears all employees will be granted an additional 5 days of leave each year under the new Paid Civic Time Off program. This would be on top of any other leave already granted to employees.

Peloton continues to also work towards their “Peloton Pledge” – an initiative to invest over $100 million over the next four years towards “both the fight against racial injustice and inequity, and the promotion of health and well-being for all.” They last provided an update on the pledge in April, when they announced 7 partners they would be working with.
