Peloton App releasing on Sky Q soon?

Update – The Peloton Sky Q app has officially launched

It appears the Peloton app might be launching on a new platform soon: Sky Q. For those who are be unfamiliar, Sky Q is a TV & entertainment platform run by the British company Sky. It services both the UK & Germany – two of Peloton’s markets.

People who have the Sky Q platform are able to download & install apps like Netflix, YouTube, etc – much like you can on an Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, or FireStick (all other TV platforms where the Peloton app is available). Sky has a page listing some of their current apps available on Sky Q.

Currently, in the fitness category, it appears there are only two apps for Sky Q: Fiit and Tastemade.

However, it sounds like Peloton will soon be added as a third fitness option to the Sky Q platform. A few pages on Peloton’s website are making mention of a Peloton Sky Q app as one place you are able to use your Peloton Digital membership.

For example, on the checkout page for signing up for Peloton Digital, one question is: “On what devices can I access the Peloton App?”

Their answer is:

The Peloton App is available on web and for the iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Android tablets, Fire tablets, Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku TV, and Sky Q.

On the same page, another question describes what the Peloton membership offers, and it again mentions Sky Q as a platform:

The Peloton Digital Membership gives you access to thousands of live and on-demand classes anywhere, anytime, with or without equipment. It includes a diverse selection of indoor cycling, running, walking, bootcamp, strength and outdoor (audio-only) classes. You can download the Peloton App on your iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Android tablets, Fire tablets, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Sky Q, or access it on the web. Unfortunately, these questions don’t give any indication as to when the Peloton Sky Q app would officially launch. If mentions are being added to FAQ and the app pages, it might be soon though. We’ll be sure to update this article, or post a new one, once it is officially released.
