Peloton To Expand Extra 10 Classes to More Modalities Later This Year

This morning Peloton held their Q2 2023 earnings call, which included a letter to shareholders. Contained in the letter was a note that Peloton will be expanding the modalities of their Extra 10 content. The letter states:

November also saw the launch of our “Extra 10” series, a collection of classes designed to provide members ten extra minutes of focused workout time, without warm-up introductions. Extra 10s are a mixture of intervals, climbs, and low-impact cycling and Tread classes, which we plan to extend to additional modalities in the new calendar year. An instant hit with Members, Extra 10s saw over 1.3 million workouts taken in the quarter by over 540 thousand Members.

The Extra 10 class format first launched in November of 2022, with classes added nearly every week since then. By definition, the classes do not contain a warm up and are designed to be stacked with another workout. All currently available Extra 10 classes can be found in the dedicated Peloton collection.

There are already a number of workout formats represented across the classes. The rides include climbs, low impact, and intervals; while the runs include walks, runs, and hikes.

With Peloton sharing that they will be branching into new modalities for Extra 10 content, that could mean that there could be Extra 10 classes designed for strength, yoga, and HIIT cardio, to name a few options. This could include options for barre, pilates, and shadowboxing as well.

In addition, Peloton may add more ride and run formats to what is currently offered. Perhaps Tabata or Groove Extra 10 rides; or intervals or endurance Extra 10 runs.

Which modalities and class formats would you like to see added to the Extra 10 collection?
